BIO

Mountain Village 1890 is a collection of houses, commercial buildings, and community structures, most of which were built and occupied during the second half of the 1800s.

Each structure is furnished, adorned, and maintained, just as they were when they were in use 120 - 180 years ago in the post Civil War, Reconstruction era of the Ozarks. Beneath the village lies a cave that has been in use by humans for over three thousand years. Evidence of prehistoric Cliff Dwelling Native Americans, Spanish and French explorers, modern Native American tribes, Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War, hunters, trappers, outlaws, moonshiners, smugglers, and early pioneer settlers to the area, have been discovered in and around the vicinity of Mountain Village 1890.

As if that wasn't amazing enough in and of itself, the place is also actively haunted by some of those who once lived, worked, fought, and died here. For years, employees and visitors to Mountain Village 1890 have reported a myriad of strange activities; from disembodied voices, to solid apparitions. Now we are inviting you to join a real paranormal investigator as you explore this authentic 1800s era Ozarks ghost town, and have a ghostly adventure of your very own.

There are no costumes, no props, and no special effects. This is a real ghost town haunted by real ghosts.

The Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour came about after rumors of the hauntings captured the attention of Tulsa-based paranormal investigator, William Fleming. William has strong ties to the city of Bull Shoals, and a life-long love of Mountain Village 1890 and the Bull Shoals Caverns. So he petitioned the owners of the facility for permission to conduct an investigation there. The first investigation was so productive that he was allowed to return several more times, and after a year of conducting investigations, he presented his finding to the astonished owners. From there, the idea was born to open the facility up to tourism and allow the public an opportunity to explore a real, actively haunted, ghost town in a safe environment and experience what it's like to conduct an investigation with an experienced paranormal investigator.

Since it began, hundreds have come out to tour our facility and many have left with amazing stories to share of their paranormal experiences during the Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour.

William has dedicated his life to the research, investigation, and understanding of ghosts and hauntings. He has conducted well over 300 investigations in six states and has experienced nearly every kind of haunting imaginable. William has dedicated hundreds of hours delving into the history of each structure on the property and has discovered several historical facts about the structures and people associated with them, that were preciously unknown. William is the founder of Ghost of a Chance: Paranormal Research and investigations, he has been featured in several publications and is about to publish his first book on how to be a paranormal investigator. Now he brings all of his knowledge and experience to you in the form of the Mountain Village 1890 Haunted History Tour. "I love the city of Bull Shoals, and especially Mountain Village 1890 so much that I decided to move here and dedicate all my attention toward it and the Haunted History Tour. I want to share what I do with others so they don't just have to sit on the couch and watch it on TV, they can come out and have a real paranormal adventure themselves and learn a little bit about history while they're at it."
